$1,200 New Hercules D198ER
- Horsepower: 44
- Engine: D198ER
- Fuel Type: Diesel
It's specifically for a military MEP-004a generator, but the D198 was used in all sorts of industrial applications. It's a White/Hercules 4 cylinder diesel motor. 44 HP, I believe. It's a fresh rebuild by the Oregon National Guard. I used to have a MEP-004a with a blown motor that I was going to slap this into, but I didn't feel like it after a while and I sold the generator for what I had into it for parts, so it's a wash.
I held onto this motor thinking I'd come up with a project for it, but I didn't think of anything yet. It's an all mechanical motor with all of the normal accessories (alt, starter, water pump, etc.). I never took it off of it's pallet. The only thing I've done to it in the ~year I've had it sitting in the garage is put the belt on. No fluids, never ran since rebuild.
Data tag says it's 44 HP, the Internet says it's 50 HP and 150 ft/lbs.
